Keeping Appointments Running On Time

We do our best to keep appointments running on time, but as a specialist paediatric practice, our day can sometimes change unexpectedly. Emergencies, urgent clinical needs and the care of medically complex children can occasionally result in delays. Our priority is always to provide each child with the specialist care they need, even when this means our schedule doesn’t go exactly to plan.

If your specialist is running behind schedule, we will do our best to let you know and keep you updated where possible.

We ask that you arrive at least 5 minutes before your scheduled appointment time. We appreciate that getting children to appointments on time can sometimes be challenging. Please consider traffic, finding a car park and getting your child into the practice when planning your journey.

Late arrivals will be accommodated wherever reasonably possible. However, arriving late may mean the scheduled appointment time is no longer available. Where the next patient’s care or preparation has commenced, the late-arriving patient may be offered the next available opportunity that day or an alternative appointment. Clinical care will not be rushed or compromised, nor will another patient’s care be unnecessarily delayed, to accommodate a late arrival.

Thank you for helping us provide timely, specialist care to every child we see.

Keeping Children Comfortable While They Wait

We have colouring-in available in our waiting area, but to help minimise the spread of germs, we don’t provide shared toys, books or screens. You are very welcome to bring your own device, books or quiet toys if that helps keep your child entertained while waiting.  We appreciate that waiting can be challenging for children, and we’re happy for families to bring whatever works best for their child.
